Uprising Athletics is excited to begin offering 1-on-1 nutrition coaching to a limited number of clients.  Our goal is to use our years of experience to teach you to manage your nutrition so that it aligns with your health and fitness goals. 
 
Managing your diet/nutrition is simple, not easy.  Nutrition is also not a short-term endeavor.  We will help you learn new habits and develop routines that will keep you on track. We want to empower you to understand the ins and outs of nutrition and how to successfully fuel your body regardless of your goal. 
 
Our plans will be habit-based and require a minimum 3-month commitment.

Nutrition is simple, not easy.

My name is Kari Tomlinson and I have spent most of the last twenty years learning about nutrition and implementing the things I’ve learned into my own life.  I have discovered that a good nutrition plan is simple, but it is NOT easy. 
 
Most people are unsuccessful with their nutrition and body composition goals because they fail to realize that there is no magic pill, no 7-day miracle plan, no medication or fitness routine that will deliver easy results.  Take it from someone who has been in your shoes and walked the walk: Weight loss, body re-composition, bulking, performance…all of these goals require work and consistency.  Through many years of trial and error, I have learned and developed a straight forward approach to nutrition that based on whole foods, moderation, grace and keeping it simple. 
My goal is to help you understand your relationship with food, develop a plan that works with your life and doesn’t feel restrictive.  Long term results require a long-term commitment…this is not a diet.  I want to teach you to reframe your nutrition in to a tool that you can use the rest of your life no matter what stage you are in or how your goals change.   If you have questions or are interested in one-on-one nutrition coaching, please reach out.

What we are asking from interested clients:

step1

Commitment to yourself and to the process. Regardless of your nutrition-based goal, it is a process that takes time and patience.  You will need to be patient with yourself and understand results take time.  Trust me, it will be worth it.  Communicate your concerns and frustrations openly.  We are here to help.

step 2

Consistency, not perfection. It’s what you do 80+ percent of the time that matters.  Life happens. We want to be able celebrate special occasions and partake in events.  We will give you tools to help you be prepared for most situations, but perfection is an unrealistic expectation.  Give your self grace when these situations arise and then get back on the plan.  That being said, “Failure to prepare is preparing to fail.”

Honesty and self-reflection.  Be honest with your coach, be honest with yourself, be honest with your loved ones.  Why are you doing this?  How much work are you willing to put in?  How much support will you have around you?  Understanding your motivation and what support you will have around you is essential to helping you achieve your goals.
